    Formula

    • GPA = Σ (grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits
    • Latvia: same formula with 1–10 marks × ECTS
    • India (CBSE estimate): Percentage ≈ CGPA × 9.5

    How it is calculated

    1. Choose the grading standard (Latvia 1–10, US 4.0, … or Custom).
    2. Add each course with grade and credit hours / ECTS.
    3. GPA is total quality points divided by total credits.

    Questions

Is the Latvia 10-point scale the same as GPA?

Locally you report a credit-weighted average on 1–10 (often called vidējā atzīme). The algebra matches GPA; the scale differs. Conversions to US 4.0 are institutional estimates only.

    Is CGPA × 9.5 official?

It is the common CBSE estimate. Many universities publish their own tables.
