Grow what you have, add what you save, then test a 4% withdrawal. Not a pension promise.

Defaults to your region. Switch to compare any other scale.

Project pot, withdraw 4% in year one.

Result

$569,745.47

Projected nest egg

  • Year-1 withdrawal$22,790.00
  • That, per month$1,899.00

Sequence risk is real

The 4% rule is a US historical heuristic, not a guarantee. Pensions, CPF/NPS annuity, and Sozialversicherung are separate.

Formula

  • Nest egg = FV(current, monthly, return, years to retire)
  • Year-1 income ≈ nest egg × withdrawal rate

How it is calculated

  1. Set current savings, monthly add, return, and years to retire.
  2. Grow the pot with monthly compounding.
  3. Multiply by the withdrawal rate for a year-one paycheck check.

Questions

Should Indians use 4%?

Inflation and equity mix differ. Use the rate as a lever, not a law. NPS has its own annuity purchase rules at 60.
